David Morreale

Date: August 17th, 2006 starts 7:00PM
Folk and broad-ranged Baritone

Writing songs is honest work, like digging ditches, or laying bricks. It's just not as hard. Fans have described David Morreale as the James Dean of the folk scene and while his music is too broadly based to encompass only one style or genre, a beautifully-played acoustic guitar and soaring baritone are at the center of his sound. When David hits the microphone, the intimacy and personal connection that he establishes with the audience is as apparent as his sense of humour and love for the stories he tells. On a mission to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis, come out and enjoy the music and fun!! Rooms and tent spots available.. Show begins at 8 pm.

Pat and Karen

Date: Saturday, August 26th, 2006 starts 7:00PM
Irish Folk Music

Pat and Karen began playing together in 2001. Since then, they have participated at hundreds of weekly Irish music sessions, amassing a shared repertoire of jigs, reels, and other dance tunes common to rural Ireland. Their music is performed on the age-old pairing of Uilleann pipes, a species of bellows blown bagpipes native to Ireland, and Fiddle.

Action packed weekend! September 1st through the 3rd..

Friday and Saturday: Kent Marsh

Date: Friday and Saturday, September 1st & 2nd starts 7:00PM

Kent Marsh: Plan on having your special someone next to you to snuggle while you savor the smooth jazz styling of Kent Marsh. He's both a singer and saxophonist who will play favorite romantic songs from Kenny G and others on his Soprano Sax and will sing heart warming standards as well. Kent will be accompanied by Mike Hamal on Keyboard. Kent, a graduate of Boston Conservatory of Music, has performed as a singer in many styles and venues including weddings, Musicals, Operas and with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. Kent plays sax regularly in his church's worship team band, and other special occasions.

Saturday: Nick Bognar

Date: Saturday, September 2nd starts 9:30 pm

Let the games begin and begin they have! On 7/28/06, I released my very first album, "I'm In Love and I Hate It". It's available in the merch section if you want a copy, or if you like yours enough to buy someone you love a copy instead of just burning it on your computer like everyone else. I played a triumphant CD release party at the Grog and Tankard in Washington DC on 7/28 (pictures in the Media section), and have release shows coming up in Boston (8/15), Los Angeles (8/29) and Chicago (TBA). Come out and dig this!

Sunday: Jennifer Ryan

Date: Sunday, September 3rd starts 7:00PM
Her music will keep you guessing.

She's a 24 year old singer-songwriter guitarist that hails from the suburbs of Chicago land, whose music will keep you guessing. Everything from a modern day troubadour to ethereal, Irish folk, soft country, dark acoustic, Ani DiFranco, A Perfect Circle, Tori Amos with a guitar, and even Christian- but most importantly it has been called original and undefined. No one has been able to quite put me in a category and I like it like that, but if I had to give   it a sound, I like to think of myself as the love child of Tori Amos and  Maynard James Keenan.

Saturday: Charlie Vibes

Date: Saturday, September 9th starts 7:00PM

Inspired by the idea of adapting popular songs for an intimate jazz setting, Charlie Vibes is all about using the brilliant sounds of the the electric vibe to create musical landscapes from the melodies of jazz and pop songwriters. From the fusion sounds of Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter to the radio songs of Lennon/McCartney and Bill Withers, hear them come alive in a way only the electric vibe can produce. Charlie Vibes has performed at the "Day in Our Village" festival in Oak Park, IL, with various musical theater pit orchestras, and headlined the 2004 Grand Lake, CO, Music Festival in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Saturday: Boy Howdy

Date: Saturday, September 30th starts 7:00PM

Boy Howdy -Ted Jorin aka "Boy Howdy" plays old-timey obscurities, popular non-sequiturs and tongue and cheek originals on the banjo, ukulele, guitar or musical saw. He has recently appeared with eclectic anti-pop heroes New Harmony Indiana, electric hillbilly smart-alecs The Mighty Lumberhorn and novelty jazz and hokum combo The New Ballard Chefs at festivals, weddings and bocce ball tournaments. Seriously.

Sunday: Alan Bailey

Date: October 15th, 2006 starts 7:00PM

Alan Bailey has been tickling (or banging) the ivories since about the time he learned to walk... to the piano. His playing has since become much better  than when he was two, due to his constant and continuing education in classical music, jazz, improvisation, and rock. He has studied with a saxophonist of Harry Connick Jr.'s band, and with a student of jazz pianist Kenny Barron. While he lived in Europe for a year, he performed at such  places as the famous Foyle's Bookshop in London and the Galway Oyster Festival, in Ireland. For this performance at the Fox River Bed and Breakfast, Alan will play relaxing solo jazz piano. Alan keeps busy with many other  musical endeavors. He is the leader of a Ben Folds Five Tribute Band in  Chicago and is the pianist for a play written by Steve Martin, "Picasso at the Lapin Agile," currently running in Chicago. Saturday: Guitars of Fire

Date: Saturday, November 11th, 2006 starts 7:00PM

JEFF BURNS, GREG DOBROV and JOE DeJOHNS:
We are GUITARRAS DE FUEGO ("Guitars of Fire"), a Chicago-based unit offering spicy acoustic music with a Mediterranean flavor. Rooted in contemporary jazz and flamenco, our repertoire draws on the acoustic side of world fusion reflecting the influence of virtuoso guitarist-composers (Di Meola, McLaughlin, Coryell, Towner). In performance Guitars of Fire appear either as a string duo or as a trio with master percussionist DeJohns. The current set combines original material with well-known pieces and jazz standards ("Take Five," "Spain"). Experience the passion and beauty of Guitarras de Fuego! In larger rooms you will be impressed by the power and range of the music. More intimate venues can enjoy a gentler, subtler version of our progressive acoustic fare.

Saturday: "Frank" and Chieko

Date: Saturday, November 18th, 2006 starts 7:00PM

Michael was born and raised on a fruit farm in Michigan and lives in the Chicago area.  His experience singing in choir, dance and theatre throughout his life has shaped him into the performer he is today.  Some call him Michael and some call him Mike. Fans in St. Louis know him as Hutch but most recently he’s been addressed a few times as “Hey, Frank”; a compliment which he holds in the highest regard.

Born in Yokohama, Japan, Chieko Yano started playing classical piano at the age of 3. She has developed her own musical vocabulary through the experience of various instruments: piano, sax, voice, and bass. After working few years in Tokyo as a singer, pianist, and arranger, she moved to Chicago to pursue a degree at the Chicago College of Performing Arts in jazz piano performance. Soon after her arrival she started her career as a cocktail pianist-her forte. Chieko is one of the few female jazz piano players in Chicago.

Chieko and Michael recently started playing together and are excited about the opportunities ahead.  Come on out to hear Mike's smooth voice and Chieko's inspirational jazz sound. Visit their web addresses.
